Open PhD position in numerical analysis at Universit¨at Karlsruhe (TH), Germany

The research group Numerical Methods for high-dimensional Systems at the Mathematical Department of Universit¨at Karlsruhe (TH) invites applications for a PhD position in numerical analysis or scientific computing. Universit¨at Karlsruhe (TH) is one of the leading universities in Germany and has been selected to be one of thefirst three “Elite-Universit¨aten” within the framework of the German Excellence Initiative.
The position is a pure research position with no teaching obligations. Hence, German language skills are not necessary if the candidate has a sufficient level of written and spoken English. The field of research will be numerical methods for high-dimensional differential equations in systems biology. The position requires sound understanding of numerical analysis, in particular a good knowledge of numerical methods for partial and ordinary differential equations. Moreover, the candidate must be familiar with MATLAB and have some experience in implementing numerical methods.
To ensure equal opportunity for men and women, female candidates with the advertised qualifications are explicitly encouraged to apply. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the EU.
Applications must contain
• a short curriculum vitae,
