Journyx wants, no, needs to give back to the community. It's part of who we are. See, we turned 12 recently, which is like 60 in company years, so we're kind of like an old man seeking to gain some tiny portion of immortality by endowing a scholarship that bears his name. So much so, in fact, that we are actually endowing a scholarship that bears our name. So without further ado, allow us to present...
The Journyx Excellence In Project Accounting Philosophy Essay Scholarship 2009
Journyx is committed to eradicating cost ignorance from our knowledge worker society and leading organizations to the highest levels of profitability through innovation. This scholarship is designed to improve the philosophy and the technology of project accounting.
One student (currently enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate at a university in the United States) will be awarded this scholarship in recognition of his or her passion for improving the lives of knowledge workers through technology, academic excellence, and the ability to make a difference in the project accounting technology industry.
What Do I Have To Do To Get Your Money, Mr. Journyx?
It's really pretty simple. We want you to write an essay of 1,000 words or fewer, on one of these two topics:
- Persuade someone who doesn't want to track his time on a per-product per-activity basis why it is in his best interests to do so.
- Describe a real situation that you've encountered where project oriented time tracking has made a positive difference in the world.
The author of the best essay, as chosen by our panel of judges, will be awarded $500 USD towards his or her tuition and fees.
We'll only accept one essay per person, so make sure you've done your best before you send in your entry. Journyx will not return essays or any collateral materials submitted by contestants, so please don't send us anything you need back.
To apply for the scholarship you'll need to submit the following materials, along with your essay, obviously, between September 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009:
- An official academic transcript containing the entrant's spring semester grades for the academic year in progress.
- A copy of entrant's resume that includes e-mail address, campus address and phone number, student ID number, permanent address and phone number, major and expected graduation date.
To be eligible, all application materials must be received by 5:00pm CDT on June 1, 2009 for the academic year beginning September of that year.
Applications may be sent via email or snail mail to the following address:
