Cologne Graduate School (CGS) will constitute the integrated PhD program of the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne.
Each year, a limited number of scholarships will be offered to the very best graduates in management, economics, and the social sciences. These so-called WiSo scholars will be recruited internationally across the three disciplines of the Faculty. The Graduate School will also provide the infrastructure for international doctoral exchange.
The course program will start in October 2009. During the first year, students will take part in courses on multidisciplinary methods and theories and subject-specific courses. During the second and third year, students mainly conduct research and work on their thesis. Students are encouraged to spend one term abroad.
The CGS is looking for excellent students who are close to finishing their Master’s degree (or German Diploma or equivalent) and who count among the top 10% of graduates in their faculty. The teaching language of the program is English.
Scholarships:
For excellent students with a Master’s degree (or German Diploma or equivalent), the CGS offers a limited number of scholarships (1,200 Euro per month). The maximum duration of a scholarship is three years. Scholarships will start in October 2009. The grant is tax-free and there are no tuition fees to be paid.
Application Procedure:
Application deadline is April 30, 2009. The CGS also encourages international students with a master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Sciences and related fields to apply. Detailed information on the application process for scholarships 2009 will be available on February 15, 2009 on CGS website.
