European Masters Scholarships for Overseas Students 2009

Scholarships are available for overseas and EU students to study the MA LLL in the United Kingdom or Denmark, and Spain.
The European Commission offers scholarships for 3rd country (non-EU) students and scholars for those wishing to study for the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management (MA LLL). This is a trans-national programme, which means that students will visit at least two European countries (United Kingdom or Denmark, and Spain) during their studies.

The programme is completed over 2 years and consists of 6 modules, each totalling 15 ECTS credits, and a dissertation totalling 30 ECTS credits.
In their first year students can choose between the Danish School of Education in Copenhagen and the Institute of Education in London.
In the second year, all students will go to the University of Deusto in Bilbao in Spain. Regardless of where you decide to go, you will be taught by leading experts in the field of Lifelong Learning.
The MA LLL trains students to analyse different education systems comparatively, and requires them to critically analyse and assess contemporary European efforts to adapt education policy in a context of social and economic change (ageing societies, the global knowledge economy, etc), and relate this to their own experience.
The deadline for Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications for the academic year 2009/2010 is 31 December 2008.
For non-EU students
For each student the scholarship amounts to 21,000 Euro per academic year. This includes 10 monthly grants of 1,600 Euro and a fixed amount of 5,000 Euro for fees, travel expenses, relocation costs, etc. For courses lasting two years, the student receives double this amount, i.e. 42,000 Euro.
For non-EU scholars
The amount of an average scholarship for scholars is 13,000 Euro. This includes three monthly grants of 4,000 Euro and a fixed amount of 1,000 Euro for travel and expenses.
For European students
The Consortium providing the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management offers partial scholarships towards the cost of tuition for highly qualified European students.
The scholarship amounts to a total of EUR 8000 for the two-year programme.
