Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), anticipates making up to five awards of up to $300,000 each as part of the U.S.-Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES) Initiative. These three-year partnerships will focus on strengthening higher education capacity in two areas:
* Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change, and Competitiveness* Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Competitiveness
These higher education partnerships include objectives to:
* Strengthen curricula in the specified focus areas* Provide scholarships* Provide opportunities for exchange of Mexican and U.S. scientists and scholars* Help build the higher education capacity of Mexican partner institutions.
